In the class, we will discuss the most important metaheuristics by notes and
articles. Students will present their findings in various articles. After
understanding the fundamental structure of metaheuristics, students will apply
his (her) knowledge to build a project. They will learn how to design heuristics to solve real world applications.
In addition, the instructor will lead to explore his research accomplishment on
various metaheuristics such as tabu search, GRASP and Scatter search.

(三）預期效益
This course helps students to understand the fundamentals of heuristics
computing and combinatorial optimization, Students can develop strength in
building metaheuristics method to solve combinatorial optimization problems.
By giving students training on metaheuristics and integer programming, we
equip students with ability to apply to real world problems, in particular, for
logistics management.
